Any resident or non-resident can open an account with us. We serve three types of deposit accounts denominated in Khmer Riel (KHR), US Dollar (USD) and Thai Baht (THB). Due to Cambodia’s highly dollarized economy, most of our business transactions are in US Dollar.

o        Savings Accounts

With an initial deposit of USD100, you can open an account with us at no cost. The bank will issue a passbook to you free of charge and you can withdraw or deposit cash at any UCB branch. There is a government tax of 5% levied on interest earn. Interest at prevailing rate of 1.25% P.A. is calculated and credited to your account in every six months of June and December. If you close account within three months from the opening date, there will be a bank charge of USD10 incurred. You can open an account in KHR or THB. In case your passbook is lost, a new one will be issued to you with a charge of USD5.

o        Current Accounts

With an initial deposit of USD100, you can open a Current Account or checking account with us. There will be no interest payable on this type of account. You can issue checks instead of paying cash for your transaction, transfer fund from your current account to your savings account, deposit check received in your favor. A 25-leaves check book will be issued for USD10 per book. Apart from our general banking service, you are welcome to apply for a credit line for running your capital.

o        Fixed Deposit Accounts

Starting with the minimum deposit of USD2,000, you can open a fixed deposit account with us enjoying attractive interest rate. Time deposits are fixed for three months, six months and twelve months or longer. Substantial amount is subject to negotiation.

o        Consumer Loan

You are cordially invited to talk to our Loans Department and submit your application. Most loans are granted on short term basis financing local entrepreneurs at a competitive rate. Your application will be assessed by our Credit Officer to ascertain its viability who will then make recommendation to Credit Committee for review and approval. A commitment fee will be levied upon acceptance of the facility offered.
